We are helping the planning and manufacturing of"Kariyushi Wear"by Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST).

Yuna, a village flower in Onna Village, has designed a design that OIST officials, who are based here in Okinawa and continue to make great strides not only in Japan but also in the world, can wear it with pride. I created it with the motif of"Ohamabou".

What is Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST)?

It is a graduate school with a five-year integrated doctoral program headquartered in Tancha, Onna-mura, Kunigami-gun, Okinawa.

In 2019, it was ranked 9th in the world in the Normalization Ranking of the Nature Index, which ranks research institutes around the world by the number of high-quality papers (the University of Tokyo ranks 40th in the ranking).

It is operated by the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University Academy, which is based on the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University School Law, and almost all of the budget is subsidized by the government. Currently, he is conducting interdisciplinary research in seven fields, which are roughly divided into neuroscience, mathematics/computational science, chemistry, molecular/cell/developmental biology, environment/ecology, physics, and marine science.

We designed Yuna (Ohamabou), a flower of Onna village, to match the line drawing touch of the OIST mark.

In Okinawan language, the alluvial plain near the coast is called"Yuna". It is said that the origin of the word"Yuna"is that the Hibiscus tiliaceae that grows naturally there is called"Yuna".

There is a story that Uminchu and his friends returned from the coast to the port with the yellow flowers of"Yuna"on the beach. It is also a flower that symbolizes departure and return.

"Yuna"tells the story of"a distant journey in the quest for intelligence"and"a return to scientific truth"starting from OIST's sea-view campus. Okinawa, where we are standing, and each of us are the mysteries of the universe.
